God bless our Veterans, however I'm not so convinced of this mighty spector of job-creation in the name of clean-energy. Think of the millions and millions thrown at these failed companies by King Obama. Now if they were going to do that, they should have given the money directly to our Veterans in the form of a check. Now that would have been money well spent.

There is great potential with green tech employment. And it's great that vets are able to get employment in that field.

Vets in general want to make a difference. They have already proven that once.

Cute feel good story but let me put this out there. A lot of jobs in the military can translate into civilian jobs but if one is a grunt joining up out of high school and now being forced out of the service into a poor job market he will need to go to school and get an education to get a good job. Going out on patrol, setting up ambushes and engaging the enemy in a firefight usually does not translate into a good civilian job. Always been that way, always will. At least that is my thought.

Veterans should be respected and given every opportunity to work, for the sacrifice they made on our behalf!

It's equally sad to see our military being propagandized.

From the article: "A black POW-MIA flag flies every day at BrightSource Energy’s Ivanpah solar plant under construction in California’s Mojave Desert, courtesy of a project superintendent who was a Marine in Vietnam."
==============================================================
A very touching gesture, but our government abandoned our POWs and every administration since "Operation Homecoming" has broken the promise to give a full accounting of the POW/MIAs who were left there. Sad days in U.S. history.

more - "Hendriks added that many of Tesla’s veteran employees say they are “especially happy to be working in the green sector after observing how fossil fuels have promoted violence and damaged the climate around the world.”
The Department of Defense _ eager to reduce its dependence on oil in the battlefield and keen to become energy-efficient at home _ is investing in clean technology, including advanced biofuels, electric vehicles, solar-powered batteries and bases that generate their own electricity. The support of clean energy is directly tied to saving lives, says Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, who has pointed out that for every 50 convoys of gasoline brought into a war zone, a Marine is killed or wounded."
Some great interviews w. veterans later in this news article. Recommended reading!

Good. I do not care in what field they get their jobs in but they deserve it and should be treated better. It was a lot different , for the better, when I came out of the military years ago.
