U.S. revises Feb oil demand up but still lags 2011

Reuters -- The government revised up its estimate for the nation's oil demand for February by 2.44 percent, although consumption for the month continued to lag year-ago levels.

The Energy Information Administration said in its Petroleum Supply Monthly report that oil demand for the world's top consumer hit 18.734 million barrels per day in February, which was 446,000 bpd higher than previously estimated.

Demand was off by 135,000 bpd, or 0.72 percent, from the 18.869 million bpd posted for the same month last year, EIA said.

U.S. gasoline consumption was revised up 3.43 percent from earlier EIA estimates, but still seen down slightly from February 2011 at 8.622 million bpd.

And Barry's economy is still bad, very bad! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible! 12/22/2012!

The big oil machine can not keep the price of gas high on their own, they need a lot of help from politicians and the media.

What they estimate means even less than what is actually demanded - since supply/demand doesn't count anymore...only in paper bbls world.

And, for those of you who keep thinking any President can control the price we pay at the pump - GROW UP! The oil industry is PRIVATE, though publically traded. They can charge whatever they want for "their" product(s). Unless the Gov't regulates the entire industry(which Republicans will not allow, as they are primarily oil people), there is no possible way for the price we pay at the pump to be decided in D.C.! However, controlling "speculators" is possible and a good idea!
