oldhillbilly: Not sure if a turbo would help in the case of your hills. A one liter (a tad over 1 quart) sized engine just has its limits.

honda0105 sez... if oldhillbilly is right, it's sad that the mpg is going down instead of going up in these models.
I should of elaborated a little more. At 65-70MPH 40+MPG is no big problem. On the other hand... locking the cruise on 80MPH for 100 miles or more with long uphill / downhill grades... the mileage suffers.
Highest average MPG on a tankful was over 44.
Will a smaller engine with a Turbo help ??? (Hope so)

Fiestas were cool in the 1970s and 1980s in Europe. Not as cool as the muscle cars, but still...

Big problem with 2011 Fiesta is gas mileage it's reduced to 37-38MPG @ constant 80MPH.
Maybe the new 1.0 Liter will be better.

The only way I'd be interested, is if Ford moved production back from Mexico to the US. Otherwise, I'll stick with the Focus which is made in Michigan.

My bright red 2011 Ford Fiesta is already fine. So far, 141,000 miles at 40+ mpg.

That 1 liter Ford engine is small enough to qualify as carry on luggage on an airline! It should achieve 50 MPG EPA ratings. The diesel version would achieve over 80, but Ford does not want to bring it in, for some reason. Could Big Oil be putting pressure on them?

I had a Fiesta and I loved it. It was great on gas and small enough to keep clean (outside washing, etc). Might get one when it comes out again.
Thanks for sharing.
