apparently, your articles lack horsepower, you need to raise the octane to compete

FYI, there was another 100+ vote to the top yesterday. The second (posted by the same person) had over 90 the last time I checked.

The longer subsonic waves are felt by animals before the shorter shaking waves we experience. It was quite traumatic it appears for the dogs, especially the subsonic long waves-..they were all howling 30 seconds before the shaking started. Explosions strong enough to fracture rock under strong pressure would likely create similar long subsonic waves that might not be heard or truly 'felt' but certainly experienced by them.

Explosions are one of the overlooked bits. There are two ways to do a well, water or oil/gas. Other than shallow digging/auger then you are going to be fracturing your way through rock lays. In my water well a few years ago, that was vertical fracturing via a pile driver mechanism for about 300 ft or so below ground water into the aquifer zone. However, when you going literally miles down you are using a diamond or similar drill vertically, and possibly horizontally as well. That's good for the bores as such, but the horizontals still need fracturing to create fine capillaries to allow feed into the bores. I really don't know, but that rock in the horizontals has to be fractured somehow. Some sort of high-power explosive would seem to be needed. I can see where the waves would bother animals. A friend in Eastern Ontario noticed that all three of his dogs suddenly defecated all at once, explosively (and were extremely upset) 30 seconds or so before a 5.0 earthquake hit a week or so ago.

Thank you for your nice comment. Learning isn't finished with me yet, or so I hope.

Thank you for the continuous encouragement !

We are all safe here. Thank you, we need your prayers. The official death toll is 24. Many cell towers are down so the authorities are recommending Texting not calling your friends or family here. If you can afford it.... contact your local Red Cross to earmark funds to Oklahoma County Red Cross. Bless you all for your concern!

And just what do you expect with a screen name of Teeny. We all know who says 'Green is Red'. What confuses me is which we are a ...communist, fascist, or Nazi. I am desperate for clarification so I know whom to vote for the next time around!

Thanks, Tea. There was an article yesterday on NPR about a well-financed campaign to discredit alternative energy which you might want to check out.

The oil & gas industry has been receiving a lot of bad press lately. This can happen when any powerful group convinces themselves that they can lie or buy their way out of anything. With great power and wealth comes great responsibility. On that point, the fossil fuel industries get a failing grade, IMHO.
