"Water-fueled cars", even if they could work, are a great demonstration of the law of unintended consequences. Believe it or not, we actually have greater access to oil than we do clean water. Plenty of places in this country have scarce water resources. If we started using vast quantities of drinking water to fuel our vehicles, that means the water wouldn't be there to drink.
How much is a 12 oz bottle of Poland Spring? Now imagine buying 20 gallons to fill your car.

For the record, as nice as this article sounds, it flies in the face of physics.
The inventor claims that the energy required to split water into hydrogen and oxygen would come from the car's battery. Well that battery needs to be charged by the car's alternator, otherwise that battery will be dead very quickly. The alternator is run by the engine. If the alternator has to run constantly to charge the battery, the engine will have to rev higher to increase the alternator's electricity flow to the battery. If the engine revs higher, the fuel flow will be higher and mileage will decrease.
There is no way that enough hydrogen can be produced through electrolysis to make up for the mileage loss. Sorry, everyone. Save your money. There really is no such a thing as a free lunch.

Develop a natural gas infrastructure, use proven natural gas technology and do it quickly. This sounds like old fashioned alchemy.

If you believe this I got a bridge to sell. Mythbusters tried this along with other gas saving devices. It doesn't work. They even tried pure hydrogen.

Increase your mileage with water plans have been around for ages. Sooner or later someone will come up with one that works.

Another 'brainstorming idea' that has yet to be proven in reality and just makes it sound good to raise hopes that most of you will be long gone before any results are shown.

He could take it a step further and use the resultant hydrogen for fuel cell technology and mileage will skyrocket.

It would seem that these claims could easily be refuted or proven by the scientific community.

It's too bad the internal combustion engines were highly inefficient energy-wise. Did anyone invent pills to help improve gas mileage yet?
