I recently went back to Quake3 for a couple weeks, just to see if anyone was still playing it. Some people still are.

But still know how to pick out one out of place voxel and pop off a shot. Still fear someone a room away yelling "I am the law!" which generally meant a rocket was about to hit someone, and everyone dropping prone and praying it wasn't them. Gave was VICIOUS.

Team Fortress was the first game I ever played online and is what got me hooked. Thru the years have played various online versions of Quake, Unreal Tournament, Aliens vs Predator, Half Life, Delta Force, Rainbow Six, and many others.

The game itself has been running for over 12-years, with small updates every so often. Interesting thing in comparison to other games is you can create your own games. Hard part creating your own games takes a lot of time and effort - Then to be popular you need to have your PC running 24 hours a day almost to keep your game on-line, or hire to keep your game active. This game has something for everyone.. player vs. player, crafting, guilds, alliances, quests, housing, horses, dungeons, underwater areas. This game has had me hooked since I forst started playing in 2002. It's not advertised anymore but if you like games like Everquest and WoW then you'll like DAoC.
