Silvas Oil (Old Dixie Truck Stop) 6417 Ventura Blvd Ventura CA 93003 Off the 101 Freeway. Between Victoria and Johnson on the frontage road. Accepts credit cards.

Go to this site and you can get a lot of helpful hints and also find out how to obtain a permit for experimental alcohol fuels.

Yes I do believe that it is more cost effective. I cannot buy e85 around here as the nearest pump is about 100 miles away. I have looked into making my own. I am guessing that I can make it at $1.25-$1.50 per gallon. My source for feedstock would be bulk molasses. I have already priced it at my local feedstore. Molasses has such a high sugar content that you need to cut it with 2 parts water. Basically all you need to do is get a permit from the BATF, build or buy a stil and have at it. You do have to add 2% denaturant to the finished product so you cannot drink it. I will try to post some links in the coming days to help you out. [Edited by: goldseeker at 3/3/2011 4:39:11 PM EST]
