re: aldi
good price on milk and eggs
wife and the other neighborhood women like the produce prices, but not the small selection.
none of them wanted to buy any of the "fresh" meat.
some of their specialty items are a good deal,
supposedly good price on stollen at Christmas.

Looks to me like Sprouts takes up the whole floorspace of the old Randalls, so I have no idea where anyone's thinking it would go in. There's no large space available in that strip or across the street, unless maybe that's what's going in on the north side of the BestBuy on the east side of 6. That doesn't seem to be that big a space, though...

Haven't been to that one, but I've been to an Aldi in another city. I wasn't particularly impressed with the selection, but that may because we don't eat much in the way of packaged food. The prices can be quite good, though.

There were long lines and lots of crowds at Sprouts today, too, but we didn't have to wait long for checkout.

The Comical, err, Chronicle said that the second Goody-Goody is supposed to be on 1960 in Humble, just west of 59. That's what the store website says, too: not certain why people are saying 529 and 6.

Wife says lines at sprouts were long but moved fast.

Guy at Goody-Goody on 6 (West Oaks Mall) said that the 529 / 6 store would be in the old Randalls. I think he's confused...

Also saw a repair shop on Westella just east of Dairy Ashford, Watson's Lawn Equipment. It's a pretty complete store, and has been there for years. Westella is the first east-bound street south of Briar Forest.

I dunno: I looked at obd-codes.com and didn't see any trouble code that matched that description, either a general code or one specific to the make (Honda). I'm about half convinced there really wasn't any firmware update and it was just one of those "I need an extra $75 for this month's boat payment" stories. Kind of like those mechanics that like to try to scare you into getting work done by telling you what's going to fall off the car. Really hate those guys...

I found that out after a dealer charged me $75 to read the code and tell me it was because my OBD computer's firmware wasn't up-to-date. Of course, the only place I could get it updated was at the dealer, and guess who hadn't ever updated it: the dealer.
